Dr. Thomas Kaiser

He graduated in 1990 at the University of Erlangen/Nürnberg. During his studies he gained experience through training periods in England, Canada, Switzerland, Austria and at two famous hospitals in the US, the Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York and the Cook County Hospital in Chicago.

He carried out a PhD (Dr. med.) in Intensive Care Medicine and sat successfully the FMGEMS (Medical Degree Exam for foreigners in the US) in 1991.

During his specialist training for General and Family Medicine in Germany and England he passed the “Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists” in 1996.

From 1997 to 2000 he was a GP-partner in a well established Family Medical Practice in leafy Surrey.

In 2000 in search of the sun and a healthy life style he joined Dr Robin Thomson as partner in the Family Medical Centres in the Golden Triangle of the Algarve. He was the driving force in developing FMC into a comprehensive one stop medical clinic.

In 2009 Dr Kaiser was invited to be one of the lead doctors in the launch of the now biggest private hospital south of Lisbon. He became director of the Accident and Emergency Department at Hospital Particular in Faro.

Dr Kaiser has also developed, within Family Medical Centre, a cosmetic medicine practice. This has been developed in cooperation with the famous Portuguese plastic surgeon, Dr Francisco Iberico Nogueira from Lisbon.
